Looking out of the window of the plane today I was surprised to see a bright ring of rainbow coloured circles on the clouds below around a perfect shadow of the plane.
Although it looks like a tiny complete circle rainbow, this optical phenomenon, caused by the sun catching drops of moisture on the cloud surface is apparently known as a 'Glory'. I have never seen anything quite like it!
Interesting! I wonder If I'll be as lucky and catch that phenomenon, on one my future trip to Brussels, I would like that, may be if go trough UK I can see that ;)!!! Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI read something the other day about a rainbow around a skydiver. They had seen rainbow rings before but never around the actual skydiver
