Terminal 2

When I arrived at Heathrow today I could not help but notice this huge aluminium sculpture at the entrance to Terminal 2.

Entitled 'Slipstream' it is the work of the sculptor Richard Wilson RA and it is said to be inspired by observations of the flight path of stunt planes.

Elsewhere in the terminal the artworks and decorations were more modestly sized..

Out to Lunch

The New Inn at Westwood was the venue for a lovely family lunch today.

An interesting and historic pub in a very pretty village, the pub has with lots of original features.. such as this fireplace..

It was a chilly day but we had a cosy table near the open fire and there was an excellent menu which we all appreciated.

Red Rose

The simple beauty of a red rose bud, still damp with dew, catching the November early morning sun.

Feline Companions

When we stay with Lauren and James it is fun to be living alongside cats again - as we always did before we left for the US.

James took these beautiful photos of Ginty at the weekend.  She is a lovely Birman, adopted by Lauren and James as a mature cat from the Birman Rescue organization.

Unfortunately, she doesn't always see eye to eye with the equally lovely Emma.

However they are both self-pointed guardians of Theo - as this photo from last summer shows!

Birthday Celebration

Today we were "in charge" of Theo whilst his Mum & Dad went to work.

This involved lots of sticking and colouring playing games and reading as well as a walk around the town followed by a little snooze.

David was very patient and when Lauren and James got home from work we celebrated around the "Birthday Table"

And ate lots of cake

Happy Birthday David

Remembrance Day

At the war memorial on the village green in front of the parish church there was a service of remembrance this morning.

Poppy wreaths commemorated the sacrifice of those lost in two world wars, as well as more recent conflicts.

The beech tree which is growing at the corner of the green has turned a beautiful colour, especially in the late afternoon light.
