Hellibores
Today I noticed that the hellibores growing in the lane leading to Mum’s house are coming into flower. I had intended to walk up and photograph them but didn’t get there so these are photos that I took of them on a sunny morning several years ago.
They are equally beautiful this year although the weather has been dull and misty.

Visiting Santa
Yesterday’s visit to Thomasland also included a visit to see Santa. He looked the part.
Theo, like most small children, gave consideration to the vital questions ‘Have you been good?’ and ‘What do you want for Christmas’ but was a little wary of the bearded gent!
His gift from Santa included a ticket for him to visit Thomasland again so that will be a winner!
Around the park there were several items for small children to get inside (definitely not big enough for adults!). Theo soon got the hang of this and was popping up and down..

Visit to Thomasland
A magical day out for two proud grandparents and one excited little boy - at Drayton Manor theme park near Tamworth where there is a whole section of the park dedicated to Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends.
We watched the weather forecast and were anticipating a chilly but clear day rather than the fog and seeping cold, but it didn’t spoil our fun!
Thomas himself was in his full winter regalia.
Theo enjoyed lots of different rides including a Victorian carousel..
A fire truck...although Grampy was left to fight the fire on the rising platform!
A helicopter ride..
All in all a great day!

Eathorpe Lights
The small village of Eathorpe between here and Rugby is well known for its Christmas light displays for charity. We went to have a look..
Many of the gardens have collecting boxes for local charities.
Theo enjoyed the lights and also dropping coins into the boxes!
