Day 39 - Ice!

As it got light this morning we understood what was meant by an ice storm!  It had rained hard during the evening and night and then frozen so that there was a thick glaze of ice over everything.

The ice has remained through most of the day, weighing down the trees and bushes and breaking branches.

During the afternoon the ice started to fall away from the branches in showers of surprisingly noisy little glassy needles which covered the ground underneath.
