Mystery Plant

Yesterday David and I went to visit his Mum and Dad at home.  A lovely day.

We had a walk around the garden and admired the roses, lupins, delphiniums and some hardy orchids in pots.

I did not take any photos, except for this plant, which is a bit of a mystery.

It is an unusual color and shape and stands about three foot high in its pot.

Pretty little flowers and very popular with the bees.

  1. I am pretty sure we saw that at Chelsea last year. Mum and I looked it up but I can't remember what it was!

  2. Claire - thank you for your suggestion - it is another variety of Alium - Sicilian Honey Garlic - Allium Siculum

  3. I should have realized from the leaf, perhaps - and apparently when crushed it smells strongly of garlic.
