Getting a taste for avocado

Not everyone loves avocado - David is only a recent convert - past comments when offered it often featured words like 'soap' 'dishwater' etc..

However, grandson Theo has definitely acquired the taste - at an early age.

The quantity on the bib has more to do with my competence with a spoon than his enthusiasm for the avocado or for the pear and apple which followed..

Then a nice drink of water...

But of course it went the way of all things from the high chair..

  1. I think you better Google the book The Avocado Baby and see what could happen to young Theo. he is after all quite a tall chap for his age already! I was surprised that Kate remembered the book. It obviously made an impression. They were talking on Radio 1 the other morning (Emma's choice of station) about Guacamole. People were texting in to say that they had no idea that it contained avocado. Some thought it was made from peas......then it was Radio 1....
On the soapy taste. There was an article on Facebook about coriander saying that some people genetically can only taste coriander as soap. Could this be David's issue with avocado?

    1. Interesting! David has a definite aversion to coriander and will only eat it in guacamole. Interestingly I have seen some 'guac' recipes made with peas..
