In the Garden at Tyntesfield (Sat 3 June)

This afternoon Mum, Maggie and I had a walk around the gardens at Tyntesfield, a fascinating nineteenth century estate in North Somerset.

There is a wonderful walled kitchen garden with the neatest rows of fruit and vegetables..

And sunny corners, suitable for a short rest..

These fruit trees are carefully trained on the walls..(in front the very tall stems of elephant garlic)

Of course some veg are showier than others..

It is a beautiful and practical garden - as long as you have lots of hands available to work in it!

What a wonderful collection of beautifully kept garden tools!

The flowers in the beds outside the kitchen garden and beyond were beautiful - will save those for another day but here is a quick glimpse of the beds outside the restored Orangery..
