'Museum Corridor' at Waikoloa

A quiet day doing chores at home today having arrived back from Hawaii last evening.

Hence today's blog features some photos taken on Saturday of some of the 'museum' exhibits - both genuinely old  and not so - that decorate the resort.

There are very large stone statues all over the resort - some are animals, some deities or mythical creatures.  The majority are modern copies or decorative items.

In the covered but open-air corridor which comprises the backbone of the resort there are many very oversize vases and jars..,,,

..as well as some genuine 18th/19th century Chinese Export porcelain made for the US, British and German markets..

Other displays focused on Polynesian artefacts in wood and some modern representations of feather art from Hawaii itself..

There were some splendid Chinese or Japanese wooden doors..

Interesting additions to a holiday resort but very decorative.,
