Views of Seattle

The sun was shining this morning when we walked down the hill to Pike Place Market for breakfast.  These chilli garlands were particularly eye-catching.

Breakfast in the market was fun - bagels and doughnuts!

This was our view at breakfast and we could also see this graffiti wall..

Thankfully we did not have a view of the 'gum walls' in the alley below.  We did visit after breakfast.  Not for the squeamish..

This dentist's card amused me - presumably for those who failed to choose the sugar-free gum for their 'art work'!

After breakfast we walked to the waterfront and took the water taxi to West Seattle - just 15 minutes away across Puget Sound, but with a very different feel to downtown Seattle.

The views of the Seattle skyline from the water taxi were impressive..

We walked along the West Seattle shoreline to Aliki beach..

Back in Seattle we went to a popular viewpoint - Kerry Park - at sunset to try to capture a great view of the city and Mount Rainier.  Unfortunately the mountain was hidden by cloud but the city view was nonetheless spectacular..

  2. Has David bought a chilli garland? I hope also that you added a piece of gum to the wall! Lovely pictures of the city.
